“You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.”
- Brigham Young
This is true because, according to UNICEF - State of the World’s Children (2004) the children of literate women are more likely to be better nourished and healthier than the children of women with no form of formal education, because literate mothers seek medical care and information about their children’s nutritional needs, ensure their children are immunized, and implement better sanitation practices.
UNICEF - State of the World’s Children (2004) stated that another important reason why women have to be educated is because children of educated mothers are more likely to stay in school for an additional one-third to one-half of a year than the children of illiterate women.
So, considering how important educating women are to society, Schoolville Limited believes that all stakeholders should come together to encourage more of our girls in the Northern part of Nigeria to receive more education so that will we achieve our SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) of 2030 and unleash the socio-economic prosperity we know our great nation deserves.
