Networking and Data Communication Skills

The Networking and Data Communication Skills course is designed to equip students/participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to understand and implement networking and data communication technologies. This course provides a comprehensive overview of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, and emphasizes practical skills development through hands-on exercises. Data communication plays a crucial role in modern networking. In this course, students/participants will learn about different data transmission methods, including analog and digital signaling, modulation techniques, and error detection and correction. They will also study the principles of multiplexing and understand the basics of data compression. Furthermore, the course covers important network services and protocols, such as DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VPN. Students will learn how to configure and manage these services, as well as troubleshoot common issues. Throughout the course, students/participants will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios. They will work with network simulation tools and engage in hands-on lab exercises to configure and troubleshoot networking devices and protocols.
