The maiden edition of Delta Tech Week 2025 opened with electrifying energy on Monday, December 1st, marking the beginning of five transformative days dedicated to igniting innovation and shaping Delta’s digital future. Hosted at the Schoolville Conference Hall in Asaba, Day 1 set a powerful tone, celebrating creativity, spotlighting young innovators, and launching a wave of technological possibilities across the state.

Demo Day: Five Startups, Five Bold Visions

The highlight of the opening day was Demo Day, where four promising tech startup founders from within and outside Delta State, stepped into the spotlight to showcase groundbreaking ideas built from local insight and powered by global ambition.

From smart payment solutions and digital safety tools to AI-powered platforms and innovative fintech concepts, each founder demonstrated how technology can solve real problems and inspire new opportunities in Delta and beyond.

Their passion was unmistakable, their presentations, compelling. And as the audience applauded their brilliance, one thing became clear: Africa’s next generation of tech leaders is already rising.

48-Hour Hackathon Begins: Innovation Under Pressure

Immediately after Demo Day, the atmosphere shifted into full adrenaline mode as the long, awaited 48-Hour Hackathon officially began.

Teams of developers, designers, and creative thinkers dived headfirst into brainstorming, planning, coding, and collaboration. Their mission?
To build functional, scalable solutions within two days—tackling challenges affecting sectors such as education, health, agriculture, security, and community development.

The energy in the room was electric. Laptops came alive. Ideas collided, merged, and evolved. For many participants, this was more than a competition, it was an opportunity to prove what Delta’s tech ecosystem is capable of.

A Gathering of Visionary Leaders
