Schoolville CEO, Charles Omordia, Announces 50 Schorlarships for 2027 Delta State SDGs Summer Camp
The 2027 Delta State SDGs Summer Camp has received an early boost following the announcement of 50 tech training scholarships for children by Mr. Charles Omordia, CEO of Schoolville.
Mr. Omordia made the commitment while receiving children participating in the 3rd Delta State SDGs Summer Camp 2026 during an educational excursion to Schoolville at the Delta State Innovation Hub, Asaba.
The visit exposed the campers to technology, innovation and the growing importance of digital knowledge in education and the future of work.
Speaking to the children, Mr. Omordia emphasised that access to technology must become an essential part of preparing every child for the future.
“Children are indeed the future of tomorrow, and technology has become the foundation of almost every profession today. We must therefore ensure that every Delta child has access to the knowledge and skills required to participate in that future.”
Inspired by the vision of the Summer Camp and its commitment to practical learning, Mr. Omordia announced that he would provide 50 scholarships for children to participate in the 2027 edition of the Delta State SDGs Summer Camp.
The commitment represents a significant early investment in the next edition of the programme and reinforces the importance of partnerships between government, the private sector and education innovators in expanding opportunities for children.
The initiative strongly advances SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, while supporting the overarching SDG principle of Leaving No One Behind.
Responding to the announcement, Lady Diana Eyo-Enoette, Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Sustainable Development Goals and Convener of the Camp, described the commitment as evidence of what becomes possible when children are connected to people and institutions that can expand their opportunities.
“This is exactly why the Summer Camp goes beyond teaching children the 17 Goals. We want them to meet people, enter spaces and experience opportunities that can change how they see themselves and their future. Fifty scholarships for 2027 means fifty more children will have that opportunity. We deeply appreciate Mr. Charles Omordia and Schoolville for investing ahead in the future of Delta children.”
The excursion forms part of the week-long 3rd Delta State SDGs Summer Camp 2026, which is providing over 150 children aged 7–15, including children with special needs, with practical experiences across leadership, education, technology, environmental sustainability, citizenship, health, creativity and personal development.
From 2026, the journey to 2027 has already begun 50 children, 50 opportunities and 50 futures waiting to be shaped.
This is M.O.R.E Through SDGs creating opportunities and Leaving No One Behind.
